You’ve heard before that targeting your “pulse points” is the best way to make your favorite fragrance last — and that’s why most of us spritz perfume on our necks and wrists every morning. Body heat radiates from those places were you can feel your heartbeat and this heat intensifies the scent of your perfume.
“I put little drops on my fingers and put some under my arms and in my belly button,” Tyler told the Gloss. “My dad taught me that—if you put it where you heat up, the smell stays with you.”
How it works?: “Any area on your body that radiates heat will enhance a scent, and your belly button does just that,” Steven Claisse, senior perfumer at Takasago, told SELF.
When spraying your neck and wrists just isn’t enough, putting a little perfume on your belly (and other warm places, like the inside of your elbows and the back of your knees) should do the trick. Now get spritzing!
